The Right Car Insurance Policy Is One That Suits Your Needs  By: Smith James

These days, there is a wide array of choices in car insurance policy for you to pick. And this can be a challenging proposition in itself. The market is highly competitive and various insurance providers, many of them new entrants in the market, are up in line to make their mark. In such a scenario, the market offers the discerning customer lots of options and schemes to choose from.

And frankly speaking, with so many offers, and with each of them offering benefits of their own, it can present quite a difficult decision for the customers. And it is here that the customer should exercise his/her sagacity to select the policy that appeals most to his individual condition. Rather than falling for a tempting offer, it is wiser to analyse your situation as to what exactly you need.

If you take seriously every other offering on the policies available in the market, it may lead to certain waste of your money. It is true that the best online car insurance deals are not always the ones that seem to have the best offers attached to them. Ignore the attachments; go for the essence of it.

When you are going for car insurance, you need to scratch beneath the surface. The ultimate decider should be your personal situation and budget. The lowness of premium rates can be tempting enough, but what you need to open your eyes to is the amount of coverage you get for your car, and the flexibility of terms and conditions applicable on your policy. To understand the finer details, you definitely need to go down the roots; that is, read the offer document carefully before you invest. After all, you do not want to be left in the wilderness when you have to make an insurance claim.

Who’s really the cheapest?   by Paul Lucas

We’ve all seen the advertisements on television. One car insurer after another pops up to tell us they are the cheapest. Some offer the best value for women, some are the cheapest for ’safe’ drivers, and others believe they are the top option for older drivers, while more will reward you for years of ‘no claims’. So how do we find out who is the really the cheapest?

The internet has made shopping around for car insurance a lot easier as you no longer have to wait around on hold with call centres, and many insurers will offer discounts up to 20% if you buy online.

However, when it comes to finding cheap car insurance, you have four broad options:

· Insurance brokers - These utilise their computer systems but can only offer prices from insurers that they have a deal with.

· Direct insurers - They cut out the middleman as no commission is paid to a broker. However, they can only offer their own prices. Direct insurers include the likes of Direct Line, eSure, Admiral, Churchill, Privilege, Norwich Union, Budget, Elephant and Hastings.

· Branded providers - These are established names in other fields that have added insurance to their list of products. As with direct insurers, they can only offer their own products. These include: Tesco, the Post Office, Sainsbury’s, Marks & Spencer and Kwik Fit.

· Full search providers - By entering your data a full search provider will offer a list of quotes from brokers, direct insurers and branded providers that fit your needs. This includes www.moneysupermarket.com, which will search more than 50 car insurers instantly.

Premiums vary between providers based on your car, your postcode, the number of years you have without making a claim, and other additional factors. Using a full search provider is the only way to ensure you’re getting the cheapest car insurance quote for your needs.
